Acre narrows its search for sustainability hotshots

Eco superstars who have aced in the sustainability field in their first 12 months of employment within a new position, have now been shortlisted in recognition of their efforts.

Sustainability recruitment consultancy Acre launched Acre365 to honour individuals who have excelled in their first year at work and the company is delighted to announce the shortlist of talented, successful applicants.

It falls into three categories based on the impact the employees have made in the following areas: Environmental, Social and Combined and is as follows:


  • Meghan Hampson - HSE Analyst at Associated British Foods
  • Paul Eggleton - Energy and Environment Director at Mitie for Lloyds Banking Group
  • Paul Stephenson - Sustainability Development Manager at Willmott Dixon Re-Thinking Ltd


  • Alice Jennison - Environment Advisor and Community Investment Coordinator at Skanska
  • Laura Vickery - Global CSR Manager at Jaguar Land Rover
  • Robbie Bates - Senior Designer at Uscreates


  • Christina Houlgrave - Circular Economy Analyst at Skanska
  • Laura Spiers - Group Sustainability Manager at Interserve Plc
  • Paul Toyne - Sustainability Director at Balfour Beatty

The contenders have been chosen for their involvement and achievement in a wide variety of initiatives:

  • Implementing a waste cost optimization strategy resulting in £142,000 of savings over 3 months
  • Reducing CO2 emissions by 27,000 tons for a leading financial institution
  • Measuring & putting a monetary value on economic, social and environmental impacts for a major construction company
  • Leading a co-design process for a digital tool kit, allowing 380,000 patients and hospital users to comment on their interactions with a major health provider

Acre's crusade has attracted a high profile judging panel, who are all esteemed senior sustainability professionals and experts in their field. They are Ronan Dunne, CEO of Telefonica, Liz Goodwin, CEO of WRAP, Jean Oelwang, CEO of Virgin Unite and Jim Woods, CEO of The Crowd. They are joined by Andrew Cartland, Founder and Director of Acre.

In the next two weeks Acre will be launching the Acre365 Knowledge Platform on Here it will look to showcase best-in-class examples of impact and innovation taken from the applications, in order to share best practice and to inspire others.
