Set up for Zoom interview success

So I was just helping someone with preparation for an interview on Zoom. And I realised there's a few little tips that really help when you're getting prepared, especially in terms of your background.

First of all, you want to make sure that you don't have any backlighting so that they can really see your face and your eyes.

Most importantly, you want to make sure that you're looking at the camera, not at their picture on the screen or your own picture on the screen. So you'll want to hide self view. And then you'll want to down size to make smaller their picture and move it on the screen to where your camera actually is. So that could be in the middle or off to the right, it doesn't really matter what you want to move their face to be there so that when you're looking at their face, you're actually as close as you can get to looking at the camera.

And then lastly, you want to make sure that you're sitting up straight, your hands are in your lap, and that you're not wiggling around on a chair and don't have anything distracting in the background. Or that you're you know, obviously wearing things that aren't distracting as well.
